INDIANAPOLIS — The suspected shooter involved in a shooting Monday on Indy's northwest side has died, police said Tuesday.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers from the northwest district were called to the 5700 block of Manning Road on report of person shot around 12 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived, they found two indviduals with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police said the shooter, Victor Alfaro, 42, was the estranged husband to the woman living at the house. Alfaro reportedly entered the house and shot 31-year-old Jose Alberto Martinez-Blanco, a longtime friend, who was visiting the family. Alfaro then reportedly shot himself, police said.

Martinez-Blanco was pronounced dead at the scene. Alfaro was taken to St. Vincent Hospital where he later died.

Police said detectives are not seeking anyone else in the investigation.

Police said there is no excuse for domestic violence.

"As we all spend more time in our 炫乐彩票安卓版苹果ioss, know that you are not alone — there are many resources that remain available," IMPD said in a statement.

Police encouraged anyone who is in need of immediate help to call 800-799-SAFE (7233).
